City and County residents may dump brush and limbs at the site during operating hours. Bagged leaves and yard waste must be emptied out of the bags.
Collection of Brush & Limbs
The City of Cookeville collects brush and limbs free for residents who do their own trimming and cutting.
This service is provided year round and is normally collected every 2 to 6 weeks.
Trucks collect by areas and Call-ins are not necessary.
Bagged yard waste material is collected year round but residents must call in to leave an address.
For pick up of bagged yard waste, call 931-520-5201.
Limbs, tree trunks or other debris cut by private contractors will not be picked up.
A fee of $60 per hour will be charged to all Commercial Businesses for brush and special pick ups.
Collection of Loose Leaves
Leaf collection begins in November and ends March 15th. After March 15th, all leaves must be placed in bags for pick up. Call 520-5201 to leave an address for bagged leaves. Loose leaves are collected by areas every 3-4 weeks (weather permitting). Call-ins are not necessary.
Please try to have all loose leaves ready for collection no later than the last week in February to assure that your leaves are collected during the last rotation. We ask that you please follow the safety rules when placing loose leaves to the curb for collection. We ask residents to please refrain from calling about extra pickup,etc. Thank you for your cooperation.
SAFETY RULES
Place leaves as close to the curb or side of street as possible.
DO NOT place leaves in ditches, around or on top of structures such as mail boxes, meter lid, utility lines or poles, etc.
DO NOT place leaves in the street as this is a traffic hazard.
Foreign debris other than leaves will damage machinery. If other debris is found in leaf pile, your leaves will not be collected.
