Overview
The board was established by the intergovernmental committee and approved by the City Council on May 18, 2000 and County Commission on June 19, 2000. The board was expanded and tasked with the operation of the Cookeville-Putnam County Animal Shelter by the execution of a Joint Venture Agreement between Putnam County and the City of Cookeville on November 9, 2023. The board consists of the County Executive (or designate), City Manager (or designate), (1) City Council Appointee, (1) County Commission Appointee, (1) Local Veterinarian Appointee, and (1) Representative of the Friends of Cookeville/Putnam County Animals.
