Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT)

Function

The Crisis Negotiation Team is responsible for responding to incidents that require expertise by officers specially trained in crisis negotiation.

Staff & Training Routine

The CNT team currently has eight team members (seven sworn police officers and a psychological adviser). All officers train monthly, both as a team and with other specialized units as well.

Duties

Examples of incidents that CNT may respond to include:

  • Barricaded suspects
  • Hostage situations
  • Suicidal persons
