 REVISED PUBLIC NOTICE

COOKEVILLE CITY COURT IN-PERSON COURT PROCEEDINGS SUSPENDED THROUGH JANUARY  29, 2021.

   In light of the recent record number of COVID-19 cases and related hospitalizations in Tennessee, and the issuance by the governor of Tennessee of Executive Order #70 dated December 21, 2020, the Tennessee Supreme Court did on December 22, 2020 amend its prior Supreme Court Order #ADM2020-00428, by suspending all in-person proceedings in all state and local courts in Tennessee, including the Cookeville City Court, from the close of business on Monday December 28, 2020, through the close of business on Friday January 29, 2021.

 New Court Dates:

  1. All Cookeville City Court in-person court proceedings previously scheduled (or rescheduled) for dates on or before January 5, 2021 have been continued until 9:00a.m. on Tuesday February 9, 2021 at the Cookeville Municipal building, 45 E. Broad Street, Cookeville, Tennessee.
  2. All Cookeville City Court in-person court proceedings previously scheduled for January 12, 2021 have been continued until 9:00a.m. on Tuesday February 2, 2021 at the Cookeville Municipal building, 45 E. Broad Street, Cookeville, Tennessee.
  3. All Cookeville City Court in-person court proceedings previously scheduled for January 26, 2021 have been continued until 9:00a.m. on Tuesday February 16, 2021 at the Cookeville Municipal building, 45 E. Broad Street, Cookeville, Tennessee.

You may contact the City Court Clerk’s office at 931-520-5254 or by email at chix@cookeville-tn.gov with any questions you may have, or to discuss payment of your ticket in advance, make arrangements to complete driving school, request a continuance, or for any other City Court matters.

 Although City Court in-person proceedings will not be held until the above dates due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City Court Clerk’s office will remain accessible to the public in person and by telephone or by email during regular business hours Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 There may be a large number of people in attendance at the Cookeville Municipal Building for the February 2, 2021, February 9, 2021, and February 16, 2021 court dates.  You will be required to comply with recommended social distancing measures that are in place on those dates.  Such measures shall include: wearing a mask, social distanced seating, staggered entrance times, limited in-person contact in and around the Cookeville Municipal Building, and such other measures as may be necessary to minimize in-person contact.

 You are advised to check frequently with the City of Cookeville’s website (www.cookeville-tn.gov), or Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CityofCookeville) due to the possibility of future changes to your scheduled court date due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
