The Cookeville Performing Arts Center (CPAC) is a 456 seat live performance theatre owned by the City of Cookeville and operated by the Department of Leisure Services. The facility was built with Model Cities grant money and opened in August 1979. CPAC houses the Margery Hargrove Auditorium, named in 1989 for the First Lady of Theatre in the area.

Congratulations to Chad McDonald, Cultural Arts Superintendent with the City of Cookeville Leisure Services Department, for his induction to the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) Hall of Fame. Chad has worked for the City since 1996 and as Superintendent since 2000. He is being recognized for his work with SETC since 2004 where he serves as the Production Manager at their annual convention with over 4000 attendees.      
HOF info from SETC’s website:  “Established by SETC in 2015, the Southeastern Theatre Conference Hall of Fame recognizes persons, living or deceased, who have made major contributions to the organization. These contributions may be administrative, artistic, and/or financial and have made a significant impact on SETC’s success over a sustained period of time. The Hall of Fame commemorates their achievements and celebrates their meaningful contributions to the organization.”

The Performing Arts Center staff produces the state, regional, and national award-winning Backstage at CPAC series, a selection of contemporary plays with variable seating and staging arrangements. CPAC also produces the Dogwood Shakespeare in the Park performances in early fall. In addition, CPAC is the home of Cookeville Children’s Theatre productions, the WCTE Great TV Auction, dance performances, concerts, film screenings, and  variety of events.

Ticketing for Performing Arts Center Events

Generally, tickets are available for most events two weeks prior to the opening performance of the specific event. Tickets to most events at the Performing Arts Center are available:

  • In person at the CPAC Box Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and two hours prior to event performance time on weekends.
  • Online - Our online ticket agent is ETIX. There is a $2.50 per ticket convenience fee for online orders. Online tickets are available only through the CPAC website at www.cpactn.com. Tickets purchased from other online vendors or 3rd party sites may not be authentic. Vendors other than ETIX are not authorized to sell for CPAC events. If in doubt, please contact the box office. 
  • Over the phone with Discover, Mastercard or VISA. Call 931-528-1313. If all lines are busy, please retry. There is a $1 per ticket convenience fee for phone orders.

Phone orders will be charged to the credit or debit card account as a credit card purchase, and may be picked-up before the event during box office hours, or at the door up to two hours before the event. No tickets will be reserved without payment. Please, no refunds or exchanges on ticket purchases.

Online purchases:
Tickets may be purchased in person at the CPAC Box Office Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm or by calling 931-528-1313 during box office hours. 

Tickets purchased from other online vendors or 3rd party sites may not be authentic. Vendors other than ETIX are not authorized to sell for CPAC events. If in doubt, please contact the box office.
