City Hall Reopening

A phased reopening of City Hall will begin on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.  Extra precautions are being taken for the health and safety of employees and visitors.  Public access to the building will be limited to the main lobby entrance off Broad Street and the Codes Department entrance off Spring Street.  The number of visitors entering the building will be managed and restricted.  Floor markers and signage have been placed to encourage and promote social distancing.  Counter shields have been installed where appropriate and practical and cleaning protocols have been put in place to sanitize high-touch surfaces.  Visitors to City Hall are encouraged to wear masks or other PPE they deem necessary to protect themselves.

In order to minimize unnecessary exposure to COVID-19 the public is strongly encouraged to continue to use alternate methods for conducting city business that do not require entering City Hall.  For utility customers’ convenience, multiple payment options are available.  Cash/check payments are accepted Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm at the drive thru window.  After hours payments may be placed in the night deposit box on the west side of the building.  Payments may also be mailed to City of Cookeville, Customer Service Department, PO Box 998, Cookeville, TN 38503.  Credit/Debit card payments can be made with the automated phone line at (931)286-7021 or on-line at
