[ARCHIVED] LEAF COLLECTION POLICIES

Leaf Collection

The City of Cookeville's Leaf collection will begin Monday, November 5, 2018.  We ask that you PLEASE follow these safety rules when placing leaves to the curb for collection.

.  Place leaves as close to the curb or side of street as possible.

.  DO NOT place leaves in ditches, around or on top of structures such as mail boxes, meter lid,
   utility lines or poles, etc.

.  DO NOT place leaves in the street, as this is a traffic hazard.

.  Foreign debris other than leaves will damage machinery.  If other debris is found in leaf pile,
your leaves will not be collected.

There is not a schedule of when streets are serviced.  Leaves are collected by areas every 3-4 weeks (weather permitting).

Leaf collection by the vacuum trucks will end Friday, March 1, 2019.  After March 1, all leaves must be placed in bags for collection. Please try to have all leaves ready for collection no later than the last week in January to assure that your leaves are collected during the last rotation.

We ask residents to please refrain from calling about extra pickup, etc.  Thank you for your cooperation.
