Brown Bag Lunch Concert at Cookeville Depot

COOKEVILLE – Music and lunch are coming together two more Fridays in October for the annual Brown Bag Lunch concert series at the Cookeville Depot Museum.

The series kicked off Oct. 5 with Three Little Bops and will continue Oct. 12 with Jeremy Fritts and Oct. 19 with Jacob Hoot. Shows are 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Admission is free.

“The Brown Bag Lunch series is an opportunity to enjoy some great music outdoors and kick off the fall season,” Chad McDonald, Leisure Services cultural arts superintendent, said.

The series is sponsored by the Cookeville Arts Council and presented by the City of Cookeville Department of Leisure Services.

Lunches from Blue Coast Burrito are available to purchase on site beginning at 11 a.m.

“The atmosphere for these concerts is unique,” McDonald said. “Enjoying music while having lunch in the middle of the city’s busyness is a great way to spend a Friday afternoon.”

Limited seating on the museum’s east patio is provided, but attendees may also bring lawn chairs.

Brown Bag concerts feature a variety of musical styles that appeal to a wide range of attendees, from local business people to retirees to students.

McDonald looks forward to the remaining lineup.

“Jeremy Fritts comes from a diverse musical background," he said. "With a career varying from performance composition to concert promotion to instruction, and interests ranging from bluegrass to jazz to gospel, he has compiled numerous musical credentials.

"Jacob Hoot is a talented singer-songwriter who plays a variety of music."

The Cookeville Depot Museum is located at 116 W. Broad St. For more information, call 931-520-4386.
