Community News Posted on February 25, 2026

๐ŸŒŸ Employee Spotlight: Jason Calder ๐ŸŒŸ

Jason Calder serves as a Foreman in our Public Works Department, where he oversees the construction crews, concrete crew, and patch truck team. His team manages drainage, city construction projects, sidewalks, city streets, and winter salting to help keep Cookeville safe and running smoothly.

He has been with the City for 15 years, starting as a seasonal employee before coming on full-time in 2011. After 11 years on the concrete crew and time as a construction operator, he was promoted to Foreman in 2024. His favorite part of the job is helping the citizens of Cookeville.

Outside of work, Jason leads a men’s ministry group at church, coaches softball, and enjoys hunting and gardening. He and his wife, Mary Jane, have been married nearly 15 years and have two daughters, Riley and Elsie, along with their Labrador, Lady.

Thank you, Jason, for your dedication to Cookeville. ๐Ÿ‘
