Cookeville Leisure Services Seeking Sponsors for Merry & Bright Holiday Home Challenge
Cookeville Leisure Services is seeking local businesses and organizations to sponsor this year’s Merry & Bright Holiday Home Challenge, an annual holiday decorating contest held throughout Cookeville and Putnam County. Sponsorships are currently open and will be accepted through mid-November.
Each December, residents across the area transform their homes into festive displays of lights and decorations for the contest. The challenge encourages community connection, showcases creativity, and celebrates the spirit of the season while promoting Cookeville as a family-friendly holiday destination.
“Sponsoring the Merry & Bright Challenge is a meaningful way for local businesses to give back to the community and be part of one of Cookeville’s most joyful traditions,” said Sally Herren, recreation programmer for Cookeville Leisure Services. “This event is about more than lights and prizes, it’s about celebrating hometown pride and spreading holiday happiness.”
The Holiday Cheer Sponsor level is available for $200, offering several promotional benefits. Sponsors receive recognition on all event materials, including flyers, social media posts, and press releases. Logos will also appear on winner yard signs displayed throughout Cookeville and on the Tour of Lights map, which will be published in The Herald-Citizen and available at city facilities. In addition, sponsors are recognized on the Cookeville Leisure Services website and Facebook page.
Funds from sponsorships help cover contest expenses, including signage, materials and participant awards.
To become a sponsor, contact Cane Creek Recreation Center at 931-526-7393 or email sherren@cookeville-tn.gov.
Sponsorships will be accepted until mid-November. The Merry & Bright Holiday Home Challenge takes place each December, with results announced later in the month.
