Seasonal Changes at City Parks

Dogwood Fall October 2023 (1 of 1)

Fall is in the air, and that means seasonal changes are coming to Cookeville’s city parks.

Beginning on Oct. 31, the fountain at Dogwood Park will halt operations until next spring. Soon after the fountain closes, construction will begin on the Dogwood Christmas Tree. This spectacular 40-foot tree will cover the fountain at Dogwood Park. A Tree Lighting Ceremony is planned Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.

Beginning on Nov. 1, Cane Creek Park, Ensor Sink, and City Lake will reduce their evening hours to 6 p.m. As always, the Park View Skate Park and the Heart of the City Playground will close at dusk. All other city parks will continue to close at their usual time of 10 p.m.

Also in November, Cane Creek Park will halt rentals of paddleboats, kayaks, and canoes. Rentals will resume in the spring. Park visitors are still welcome to bring their own canoes or kayaks to the lake.
