COOKEVILLE – It’s summer concert time in Cookeville.

The next in a series of Cookeville Community Band concerts, presented by Cookeville Leisure Services, will take place June 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Dogwood Performance Pavilion in Dogwood Park. Admission is free.

“The band concerts in the park are a great opportunity to experience live music in a beautiful setting,” Chad McDonald, Leisure Services cultural arts superintendent, said. “The Dogwood Pavilion was designed especially for live music, and the Community Band series is a perfect fit for the venue.”

The Cookeville Community Band consists of musicians from the entire Upper Cumberland area – people who love taking part in the American concert band tradition. Members come from every walk of life and age, from high school students to senior citizens.

“The Cookeville Community Band was formed in response to the construction of the performance pavilion in 2002,” McDonald said. “Each benefits from the other, and the series has been very popular.”

Concerts take place on Monday evenings throughout the summer. Other remaining dates are July 2, 9 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. All are free and open to the public.

Attendees may bring lawn chairs and blankets or take advantage of the tiered permanent seating. The concession stand and restrooms will be open.

Dogwood Park is located at 30 E. Broad St. For more information about concerts in the performance pavilion, call 931-528-1313.
