Public Notice - Upcoming Changes to the City of Cookeville Customer Service Policies

Below is an overview of revisions to the Customer Service utility services policies that was recently passed by the Cookeville City Council.  The New Policy Manual may be reviewed here.

New Service Requests:
• Requests for new service received after 2:00 p.m. will be processed on the next business day
• Non-refundable Service Charges at application for each service will be $20.00
• Customers may be exempt from the non-refundable application fee provided they have had utility service for a minimum of three (3) consecutive years, with no disruption in service, and satisfactory credit


Disconnection of Services Due to Non-Payment:
• The Disconnection of utility services for non-payment will not occur on Fridays
• If a service is disconnected for non-payment, payment of the amount past due amount in addition to a reconnection fee of $40.00 will be required before the service can be restored
• Restoration of service for non-payment will only be made during regular business hours.
• Accounts interrupted for non-payment that remains unpaid after ten (10) business days, will be considered by the City of Cookeville to be a closed account. Any customer that submits payment on the account in question will be classified as a new customer, and subject to the standard customer service policies and required fees for new service.
