The Department of Water Quality Control is proud to announce that they have achieved a numerical score of 100%, or 599 points out of a possible 599 points, on the recently conducted Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Sanitary Survey of the Cookeville Water System. The survey covered the time period from April 7, 2015 to December 20, 2016.
The sanitary survey is an unannounced, on-site evaluation/audit of the total operations and maintenance of a public water system by TDEC’s Division of Water Supply Section. The four (4) day survey inspected every aspect of Cookeville’s Water System including the complete operations, maintenance and safety programs, records and documentation, water treatment and water quality testing, engineering, as well as the equipment, facilities and construction procedures.
The Department of Water Quality Control attributes this high score to the Water Department employees’ hard work and dedication to upholding high quality standards to provide safe drinking water for our citizens.
