COOKEVILLE – Summer break is a couple of months away, but registration for Cookeville Leisure Services’ summer day camp at the Cane Creek Recreation Center opens April 17 – and space is limited.
The camp, which begins May 22, is for children who have completed kindergarten up to age 12. The recreation center will be open to campers Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. The cost is $80 per week for full-time campers (four to five days per week) or $20 per day for part-time campers (one to three days per week).
This year, some changes have been made to registration and enrollment procedures. Campers will need to pick up a Camp Registration Form and complete an enrollment calendar at the Cane Creek Recreation Center. Online registration is not available. Registration is $25 per child. Drop-in care is no longer available.
Campers will have a summer of fun with crafts, activities and a different theme each week. They’ll spend time at the Cane Creek Recreation Center, Cane Creek Gymnasium, Cane Creek Park and also go on field trips to the swimming pool.
Campers should wear clothes and shoes they can play in comfortably and bring a water bottle labeled with their name. They may bring their own lunch or have lunch provided by the Putnam County School Nutrition Program. Morning and afternoon snacks are also provided.
