COOKEVILLE — The Cookeville Community Band opened its 16th summer concert series with a Memorial Day concert at the Dogwood Park Performance Pavilion. Summer concerts are scheduled for 7:30 p.m every other Monday night until Aug. 7, when The Big Band Jazz Orchestra will close out this season.
The opening concert was conducted by Carroll Gotcher, director of bands for the Jackson County middle and high schools, as well as musical director of The Big Band Sound Jazz Orchestra.

On Aug 21, the band will present a special concert focusing on this year’s total solar eclipse.
If a concert must be cancelled due to inclement weather, it will be rescheduled for the following Monday night. Cancellations will be posted at www.cookevillecommunityband.org by 4:30 p.m. the night of the concert.
