Letter from Fire Chief Roger Fuqua

Chief Fuqua

I want to welcome you to the official web site of the Cookeville Fire Department. Our site contains valuable information about our department, our community, and our members. I hope you will take the time to explore the different areas and links.

The Cookeville Fire Department has the strength of 58 career fire fighters which serve a residential population of more than 30,000 citizens, and a daytime population estimated to be in excess of 75,000 persons. Our four (4) fire stations provide services to a geographical area of over thirty-three square miles. That service area includes residential, commercial, and rural areas. In addition to our career fire fighters our department has a public fire and life safety educator, training and safety officer, and an administrative secretary who perform a variety of important roles.

Our department provides the following services: Fire suppression, Vehicle rescue, Hazardous materials mitigation, Public education, and Fire extinguishment training. A link to information specific to each division can be found on our home page.

Cookeville is a wonderful community in which to live. Our department, which has an ISO fire rating of class 2, maintains a strong partnership with the community we serve as described by our mission statement.

To accomplish our mission, we need your support and understanding of our operations. I hope that our revised web site contributes to building an even better and stronger partnership between us. Please feel free to contact us at anytime.

Best wishes,

Roger Fuqua
