Buying a Heat Pump
Buying A Heat Pump Just Got Easier With the Energy Right® Heat Pump Program.

Heat Pump Rebates
You may qualify for a rebate for installing a new heat pump in Cookeville’s service area, either residential or commercial. The rebate will be given whether a heat pump is being installed for the first time, or if it is replacing an old unit. For rebate information, please call Karen Brown @ 520-5422.
Buying a Water Heater
Why buy an energy-efficient water heater?
Water heating is typically the second-largest energy expense in your home, after space heating and cooling. It usually accounts for about 14 percent of your utility bill. If your water heater is more than 10 years old, it probably has an efficiency level no higher than 50 percent. An old water heater can operate for years at very low efficiency before it finally fails.
Choosing a Water Heater
One way to reduce water-heating costs is to replace your old tank with a new, higher-efficiency model. Our handy guide outlines the different types of water heaters and tells how to choose the one that’s right for your home.
Water Heater Rebates
$1OO.OO rebate will be paid to anyone installing an ELECTRIC water heater in Cookeville’s service area either residential or commercial. The rebate will be given whether a water heater is being installed for the first time or if it is replacing an old unit. For rebate information, please call Karen Brown @ 520-5422. She would be happy to help.

Green Power Switch
A Powerful Case for Making the Green Power Switch
Making the Green Power Switch® is as easy as flipping a light switch. You can buy green power in 150-kilowatt-hour blocks (about 12 percent of a typical household’s monthly use). Each block you buy will add $4 to your monthly power bill, and you can buy just one block or as many as you like. The green power you pay for will be added to TVA’s electric system as part of the region’s total power mix.
Why does green power cost more? Because although renewable resources like sunlight and wind are free, the technology for capturing their energy is still more expensive than traditional power generation methods. By choosing to pay a little more for Green Power Switch, you help advance the technology and increase the amount of electricity generated from cleaner sources.
When you fill out the Green Power Switch enrollment form, you’ll also receive the free EnergyRight home evaluation form. The EnergyRight program is a cooperative effort between your local public power distributor and TVA that helps consumers make their homes more energy-efficient. It will provide you with a customized analysis of your home electricity use and detailed suggestions for potential savings.

TVA and Cookeville Electric Department offer consumers an additional opportunity to help protect the environment—a program called Generation Partners. Generation Partners provides technical support and incentives for the installation of renewable generation systems. The program makes more green power available for GPS subscribers, and it creates a market for green power generation by homeowners and businesses.
Program participants support the environment by helping keep the Tennessee Valley clean and green. They also benefit by defraying the costs of their renewable system installation and lowering their monthly energy bills through the revenue they receive from the sale of the green power.
